Abstract:

Aims: The purpose of this study is the analysis of bibliometric studies of the medical most‑, cited papers. Materials and Methods: This applied and the scientometric study was conducted using retrospective bibliometric analysis methods. A Scopus search was conducted and 883 articles were retrieved. After reviewing the titles and abstracts, 432 articles related to the purpose of this research were identified. Items such as year, journal, country, and institution were considered. Medical subject heading and NLM were applied for the subject categorization of articles. Given the dynamics of subject areas over time, only the content of 117 articles published in 2020 and 2021 were analyzed. These 117 articles have been reviewed with 11, 700 most‑, cited articles. By reviewing 117 articles, the most productive journal, country, and institute in producing 11, 700 articles were identified. Results: The findings have shown a significant number of these publications review 100 most‑, cited articles in the field of medicine. Articles pertaining to the Nervous System, Musculoskeletal System, Dentistry, Radiology, and Cardiovascular System are the most numerous among the publications. Conclusion: The results of this study allow readers to know the most productive countries, institutions, and journals of various subject areas, as well as the most influential fields and research trends in that subject area. The results of this study also identify subject areas for which the characteristics of their core articles have not yet been explored to plan future research.

Abstract:

The bibliometric study aims to map and expand respective knowledge by establishing connections between important actors in academic research regarding the government venture capitals (GVCs). The scope is to analyze documents published on Scopus database starting from 2011 to 2020. Accordingly, the United States (U. S. ) is the top country in all categories with China catching up. Alperovych, Quas, and Colombo are top co-authors. On the other hand, Leleux, Grilli, Lerner and Cumming are prolific authors. Articles by Grilli and Li Y are two most cited documents. Investments, venture capital, economics, public policy, and government are most co-occurrence index keywords. Research policy, venture capital, and journal of technology transfer, journal of business venturing and small business economics are top sources of cited documents. Closely associated themes with respect to the study of GVCs are government role in venture capital support, effective Innovation financing policies, performance differential, performance of portfolio companies, funding challenges and investment strategy, decision making model and critical success factors for IT startups. The analysis generated gaps and directions for future research consisting of fund’s structure and characteristics, key personnel’s work experience and network, geographic location, investment horizon, shareholding rights.

Abstract:

Background: Dicrocoelium dendriticum, a worldwide zoonotic trematode, is a common parasite of ruminant animals, but humans can be the definitive host by chance. We analyzed the world situation of the parasite from the perspective of the One Health concept by analyzing the research literature published from 1931 to 2022. Methods: Published documents related to D. dendriticum were searched from the Scopus database. Focusing on a visual analysis of the main research documents on D. dendriticum, Dimensions free web app was used to conduct co-occurrence analysis with keywords, countries, institutions, and authors. Moreover, key clustering research, affiliaitons, journals, countries, and authors were determined. Results: The Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) was the most publishing affiliation on D. dendriticum with 19 articles. While the Veterinary Parasitology Journal was the mostly publishing journal on D. dendriticum with 38 articles, the most productive country was Iran. The authors Giuseppe Cringoli and Laura Rinaldi from Università,degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Naples, Italy were the mostly publishing authors. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis provides an overall description of the current state of D. dendriticum research and the initial exploration of future research directions. Our analysis provides guidance for the development of research on D. dendriticum.

Abstract:

Background: Macrophages play a significant role in both the development and regression of liver fibrosis, engaging in related pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory processes. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have elucidated the mechanisms by which macrophages influence liver fibrosis. Objectives: This bibliometric analysis aims to investigate the research trends in liver fibrosis regulation by macrophages through a systematic literature review. Methods: We conducted a search for literature, including research articles and reviews, using the keywords 'liver fibrosis and macrophages' and 'liver cirrhosis and macrophages' in the Web of Science database, covering the period from 2007 to 2023. We retrieved and analyzed publications on liver fibrosis mediated by macrophages from the Web of Science Core Collection database on October 8, 2023. Visualization analysis was performed using CreateSpace (version 6.1.R6), VOSviewer (version 1.6.19), and Scimago Graphica (version 1.0.34.0). Results: We identified a total of 1732 records in the WoSCC, of which 1664 papers were ultimately included in our analysis. China emerged as the country with the most significant number of publications, while Germany and the University of California San Diego stood out for their influence, with centralities of 0.41 and 0.14, respectively. Frank Tacke was identified as the most prolific author, contributing 49 papers. Hepatology was the journal with the highest number of publications and citations. The most frequently mentioned keywords in this field were liver fibrosis, expression, hepatic stellate cells, activation, inflammation, and macrophages. Conclusions: The study of macrophage-mediated liver fibrosis, particularly the mechanisms regulating the heterogeneity of hepatic macrophages, is a mature and promising research area. Macrophage-based therapies for liver fibrosis are anticipated to be crucial topics in the future. Bibliometric analysis offers valuable insights for future basic research directions and clinical practice.
